“Brewing a Brand” with Erie Ale Works’ Jeff McCullor

Erie Ale Works’ Co-Founder to Discuss Branding’s Role in Growing Local Craft Brewery

Jeff McCullor, President, Erie Ale Works

Building a brand is no easy task. Of course, it’s made easier when that brand tastes pretty good. Just ask Jeff McCullor.

McCullor is the president and co-owner of Erie Ale Works, Erie’s smallest craft brewery. Together with his business partner, Steve Anthony, he has helped create the brand behind Erie Ale Works, a brand where sarcasm and beer go hand in hand. He’s done a pretty good job, too. Now in its third year, the brewery is on pace to double its production in 2017.

McCullor will discuss the marketing and branding strategies that went into creating and sustaining Erie Ale Works next month during a special presentation.

His presentation, “Brewing a Brand,” takes place Tuesday, Sept. 12, at Erie Ale Works, 416 W. 12th St. Registration begins at 5:00 p.m. with his talk to follow at 5:30 p.m. His talk is sponsored by the Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Cost to attend the event, which includes one beer and pizza, is $15. Guests can also choose to attend just the presentation for $5. Attendees can register for the presentation by filling out this form.

In addition to owning Erie Ale Works, McCullor also works as an account executive at Werkbot, a digital marketing agency located in Erie.

Prior to joining Werkbot, he worked for CyberInk, the digital media arm of GoErie.com and the Erie Times-News. While there, he helped found the Erie Beer Society, Erie’s only club dedicated to the advancement of beer enjoyment.

The Northwestern Pennsylvania Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is the professional organization that brings together public relations, communications and marketing practitioners throughout Erie, PA.
