The Northwest Pennsylvania Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America (NWPA PRSA) will hold a “lunch and learn” panel discussion on media relations featuring PR leaders from two of Erie’s largest and most complex organizations.
The panel, titled “Media Relations: Behind the Scenes,” will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22, in the board room of Erie Homes for Children & Adults (226 East 27th Street). Panelists include Karen Beardsley, senior media relations manager for UPMC; Matthew Cummings, strategic communications manager at Erie Insurance; and Lydia Parris, strategic communications consultant at Erie Insurance. NWPA PRSA President Tony Peyronel will moderate the discussion.
The session will explore how PR professionals pitch, interact and respond to local, national and industry trade press. Panelists will share strategies, tactics, tips and tools on leveraging earned media for positive stories and preparing and responding to negative media inquiries.
Cost for the event, which includes lunch, is $15 for PRSA members and $25 for non-members.
